I recently moved back to my hometown in Brevard County and have been consistently impressed with the Space Coast Tech Council. The vision and execution of their purpose is paramount to all other business organizations of which I have been a member. It is a pleasure to attend their breakfasts, dinners, expos and special events that consistently provide interesting content and are a source of inspiration. The “Spirit of the Entrepreneur” presentation in January changed the way I think about my business. The social media post I made on Google plus about the event that morning even ranked nationally. It is my pleasure to work along side businesses that find success through innovation, learning, technical expertise and a commitment to our community.

I was very excited to learn of the beginning of the Space Coast Tech Council last year and as a Business and HR Professional I felt that joining the council would not only be a smart way to connect with other businesses but also to meet with businesses who want to see continued and sustained growth on the Space Coast. I joined SCTC and volunteered on the ITSS committee and assisted with our first big “Cyber” event. Not only was the event a success, but there has been continued and increased opportunities to meet with company leaders with shared visions as well as the opportunity to present Modus Operandi products and services both nationally and locally. Modus Operandi has participated in TechXpo the last two years and this had also opened the door to increased business development and company growth.

The SCTC has given us an opportunity to network and get to know other Technology companies in the area.  It has also provided us a avenue to display our company at the annual TechXpo which has resulted in additional business, particularly from local companies that were sending this business out of the area in the past. We have received several referral's from SCTC staff and partners, which we hope will turn into future business.

Space Coast Tech Council has been a great organization and resource for our company to learn about business opportunities in the Space Coast. Established companies and startups alike can benefit from the knowledge base of the organization committee members, professional events, and SCTC members. We have benefited from learning through industry-specific seminars and connecting with local tech companies seeking to expand their horizons. SCTC offers an environment to unify the local tech industry and cultivate its expansion. We look forward to seeing the SCTC grow.   Yash Mehta, Business Development Manager Plenar Tech, LLC'

SCTC is a very dynamic group of technical companies that have come together to grow and learn from each other.  As a banker, we are always looking for ways to help our community and this venue has created an excellent way to be involved in a very specific sector of our business community in an advisory capacity.  My favorite thing is to work with these companies one on one to help grow their financial capacity and work with many companies to assist them to be able to obtain financing when the need arises.

"I am very excited to be part of this growing organization. As a member of SCTC I have come in contact with a big number of IT and Technology companies on the Space Coast. To me it has proven to be a very important forum for networking, education and awareness of trends and technologies. Through SCTC the Space Coast gets to display what an amazing ensemble of companies, projects and resources we truly have!  Through SCTC we can show the rest of the world what we can do and that we are an extremely strong technology driven region!"

For me, the SCTC has been a very useful sub-group of the Melbourne Chamber of Commerce.  The SCTC has brought me in contact with manufacturers, educators and supporters of our extensive and impressive technical community involved in the Space and DOD efforts that are so important to Brevard County. The SCTC has helped me (Space Coast Machinist Apprenticeship Program, Inc) contact and inform companies who could use our 4 year, State-Certified (FLDOE) Machinist Journeyman training to help improve the productivity of their present, less skilled machining employees, and train new high skilled employees to replace those many machinists close to retirement. The speakers at the Quarterly Dinners are tops in their fields and most informative.  The expos and mini-expos provide further one-on-one contact  with manufacturing company representatives. Many thanks for the hard work of Jerry Olguin, Director of the SCTC, all of his staff and all who partake and promote the efforts of the SCTC. Alice M. I joined SCTC for the community involvement and to learn from other technologists. I have never seen anything like this.  There is a lot of excitement in the council and at the meetings. Every meeting and introduction is a new business opportunity or technology that I did not know was here in our community. The investment is low considering the great marketing and name recognition opportunity, and since joining, our company brand recognition has increased.

When I was asked to join the Space Coast Tech Council I did not see how a little computer repair guy like me could relate to all the big corporations and high tech IT companies represented by the SCTC.  After attending several events including the TechXpo, I quickly found out that my little company, Computer Rich LLC, did indeed have great value and that the SCTC provided an avenue to network and build relationships with other Council members. As my involvement in the SCTC grew, so did my business.  After sponsoring the first “Lunch and Learn”, the first “Entrepreneur Express” and the “Quarterly Dinner and Mini-TechXpo”, I began to be approached by other IT companies wanting to do business with my company “in some kind of way” and/or they referred business to me. Now, here I am a year down the road and I have to admit that the SCTC is primarily responsible for making me the “Go-To IT Guy” for residential and small business. Whoda thunk it? I look forward to a long and prosperous relationship with the SCTC and our members. I highly encourage you to get involved with the Space Coast Tech Council and help make Brevard County and the State of Florida the “High Tech” incubator for the rest of the good old USA. Go SpaceCoast!

Although I joined the Space Coast Tech Council as a service to the community, I have met several new business leaders and our economy is growing as a result of the SCTC’s presence. Their  impact to the community is further demonstrated through the professional networking and development events they have been providing.

You name it, we have an expert to help you. For me, I was referred to a member struggling with hiring the first month, now they have learned how to hire the right person the first time!”
